Sources and reuse
These tools transform public source files into browser-readable snapshots. The session download records source URLs, fingerprints, known releases and join decisions. Unknown download dates remain unknown. Build dates are not source dates.
Orthology and gene identity
Alliance of Genome Resources supplies gene identifiers and stringent orthology, integrating evidence through DIOPT. Methods and curator sources are retained by name. HGNC, Xenbase and ZFIN are curator contributions; source counts are not independent prediction votes or probabilities. “Yes_Adjusted” is retained as an upstream adjusted best-score flag and qualifies for the best-score filter. It is not relabelled as an ordinary “Yes”. Neither flag is a sequence reciprocal-best-hit claim.
Follow the Alliance terms and the terms of contributing databases. Alliance open-data guidance notes that licenses differ among contributing sources; this site does not assign a blanket license to them.
Human evidence
- gnomAD: version 4.0 constraint, with MANE selection and interpretability flags retained. Follow the gnomAD policies and cite the source release.
- ClinVar: gene-summary variant counts, matched by NCBI Gene identifiers. Counts are descriptive and are not individual clinical interpretations. Consult NCBI policies.
- UniProt: reviewed human entries, accession-first then unique exact-symbol joins; multiple entries are retained. Copyrightable data are CC BY 4.0.
- IMPC: viability and production status, retained independently for each mouse ortholog; CC BY 4.0.
- MGI: counts of null alleles in its report, without treating zero as proof that a gene has never been knocked out. Data and annotations: CC BY 4.0.
- Alliance-derived disease annotations distinguish curated, inferred, mixed and unstated provenance. Annotation to a term is not automatically direct experimental evidence.
Transformations include identifier reconciliation, source-state classification, partitioning and filtering. No aggregate importance score is produced. Please attribute the original databases and these transformations when reusing exports. Preserve the session manifest with your results; permanent hosting of previous snapshots is not guaranteed.
